The Biomedical Center of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and The Thai Red Cross manages the necessary medical equipment throughout the hospital. The center started in October 2016 with 5 operational staff providing equipment loaning of 10 essential medical devices, including the ventilator, infusion pump, and a defibrillator. The center offers 24-hour service with no holidays. In 2018, the center introduced maintenance and calibration of medical devices. Mid 2018 it added additional Medical scientists stationed at operating theatres, and in 2019 the center increased medical equipment maintenance. Currently, Chulalongkorn Hospital has 28 staff operating medical equipment.

Medical equipment rotation services

1. Procure and maintain adequate number of and ready-to-use medical equipment.
2. Provide medical equipment loan services to all work units in the Hospital
   • Medical equipment for use in patient care services.
   • Medical equipment for research use.
   • Medical equipment for instructional use by physicians and nurses.
   • Medical equipment on loan to patients for home use.

Maintenance and Calibration of Medical Equipment

1. Provide maintenance and calibration services for medical equipment.
2. Plan maintenance and calibration schedules.
3. Monitor and inspect the results of maintenance and calibration.
4. Inspect and test newly acquired medical equipment.

Medical Equipment and Device Repair

1. Provide repair services for medical equipment and devices during regular working hours.
2. Coordinate with external companies for the repair of medical equipment and devices.
3. Inspect medical equipment and devices after external repairs.
